Testbeds
The MadEdge cluster contains a rack of edge servers connecting to the UW-Madison campus backbone. Our far-edge data
center encloses elastic computing (CPU/GPU), memory, storage, and network capacity based on application demands. Here
are three types of edge servers:
Type-1 node:
- 2U Gigabyte R282-3C1
- 2x Intel Xeon Silver 4310 12-core processor
- 128GB DDR4
- 1/10 GbE network
- 480GB NVMe OS drive + pluggable NVMe data drives
- 2x NVIDIA A5000/V100 GPUs
Type-2 node:
- 2U Gigabyte Edge Server
- 2x Intel 6526Y+ 16-core processors
- 256GB DDR5
- 1/10 GbE network
- 960GB NVMe OS drive + 4x 1.92TB NVMe data drives
- 2x NVIDIA L40S GPUs
Type-3 node:
- 4U SilverStone RM44
- Intel Core i9-14900K
- 96GB DDR5
- 2.5 GbE network
- 4TB NVMe OS drive
- 1x NVIDIA RTX4090
